Our elementary children’s ministry provides engaging opportunities for children to explore the Bible, the church, our United Methodist heritage and traditions, worship, and what it means to live as a disciple of Christ. Small Children's Christmas Eve Worship
Children’s Worship
Following the Children's Blessing in both morning worship services, a special age-appropriate children’s worship experience is provided for children age 3 through Grade 2. Children’s Worship prepares children for worship and provides an environment in which children may creatively experience and respond to God in a child-friendly worship setting. Once a quarter, children experience a special Communion service. This special meal is presented to the children in a way that helps them understand the significance of this Holy Sacrament. Faith Friends
Faith Friends is a mid-week ministry for children in Kindergarten through Grade 3. At each Faith Friends gathering, the children will experience Bible stories, engaging activities, games, crafts, special projects, and journaling. We use our Bibles and memorize Bible verses. This is a fun, friendly opportunity to meet and grow in Jesus – weekly! Join us on Wednesdays during the school year from 6:45-7:45 in Room 425 for this awesome group of Faith Friends!
Kids for Kids Missions
Mission opportunities for children are provided to enable our children to explore and understand the needs of children less fortunate. Our children actively live out their faith by reaching out in Christian love and caring for other children.
Scouting
Guilford College United Methodist Church supports an active scouting program for girls and boys. The Scouting program provides leadership in the church and community. Check out the church calendar for scouting events!
Worship Explorers
Grade 2 children are invited to explore worship! These 13 sessions focus on basic elements of worship - gathering, giving praise and thanks, praying, proclaiming, responding and sending - to prepare young children into the worshiping community.
