Days of Service

Once per quarter we celebrate a congregational service day. Sometimes for these intergenerational events, we pick one project such as Rise Against Hunger or a Potato Drop. At other times we tackle a variety of projects aimed at helping our neighbors here locally, from baking casseroles for Partnership Village to stream cleanups.

Shoebox Gifts

Every November we collect hundred of shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts bound for the developing world through Operation Christmas Child. Collecting these boxes remind us that Christ’s birth was good news for the whole world.

Blood Drives

About once per quarter our church host a blood drive through our partnership with the American Red Cross. You can give the gift of life by joining us on a Thursday in January, April, July and October.

We contribute financially and provide volunteers each year for Senior Wheels, an offshoot of Senior Resources of Guilford County, which helps transport the elderly to medical appointments.

Ongoing Collections

We have a variety of year-round collections at the church:

  • Goodwill

We have a room for contributions to Goodwill, which helps us earn clothing vouchers for local schoolchildren.

  • Pathways Shelter

Used housewares in good condition are always needed for the Pathways Shelter, which helps families transitioning out of homelessness.

  • Ronald McDonald House

The soft drink tabs we collect for the Ronald McDonald House of Durham help them pay their electric bill. We began this collection after one of our youth and her family stayed at the RMHD for three months while she was undergoing treatments. She is now in remission, and instigated this collection with another youth in the church.

  • Greensboro Urban Ministry

Cans and boxes of nonperishable food items are always welcome for Greensboro Urban Ministry.

  • Pilgrim Tract Society

We collect Christian literature destined for distribution to the developing world through the Pilgrim Tract Society.
